When Standard Sizes Won't Do: A Bespoke Outdoor Coffee Table for West London

Posted on May 01, 2026

Most outdoor furniture manufacturers work to standard sizes.

There's a good reason for that. Standard dimensions make production simpler, keep costs down and allow products to be manufactured in larger quantities.

But not every project fits neatly into a standard size.

This outdoor coffee table, recently completed in our East Yorkshire workshop, was commissioned as a bespoke piece for a customer in West London. While we don't yet have photographs of the finished installation, the workshop images show the craftsmanship that goes into creating furniture designed specifically for a customer's requirements.

The table features a solid hardwood frame with gently rounded corners and a slatted top, giving it a clean, contemporary appearance while allowing rainwater to drain freely when used outdoors.

What makes projects like this particularly rewarding is that they begin not with a product code, but with a conversation. A customer has a space, a vision, or a specific requirement, and our job is to create something that fits perfectly.

Sometimes that means adjusting dimensions. Sometimes it means modifying an existing design. Occasionally it means creating something entirely unique.

Every bespoke commission presents its own challenges, but it also allows our craftsmen to do what they do best: combine traditional woodworking skills with practical design to create furniture that will last for decades.

This table may be heading to West London, but it started life in our workshop, crafted from sustainably sourced hardwood by a team who still believe that good furniture should be built properly.

Whether it's a single coffee table, a set of benches, or a complete outdoor furniture scheme, bespoke manufacturing remains at the heart of what we do.
